Consistently selling out Sydney’s best jazz clubs and festivals, Dizzy’s Jazz Club is delighted to welcome the hugely talented Frances Madden to perform as part of her first tour to Melbourne.

Described by ABC Jazz’s Mal Stanley as ‘one to watch’, Frances is a sophisticated and classy vocalist, pianist and original songwriter who has quickly become one of Australia’s most exciting and in-demand ‘popular jazz’ artists.

Frances captivates her audiences with a combination of her genuinely warm stage presence together with a voice and style that is uniquely her own. She is a talented composer and when she performs her own swinging tunes and beautiful ballads, they merge seamlessly with the timeless classics she covers.

As jazz legend James Morrison put it: Frances has a wonderful feeling for jazz and blues standards but what makes her a real stand-out are her original songs and unique style. Matt Bailey, Presenter of Jazz Vibes on Sydney’s Fine Music 102.5 FM said Frances’ music is a river of original and heartfelt material, truly a creative force not just in the jazz idiom, but also as a genuine contemporary songwriter.

Frances will be performing at Dizzy’s with a seven piece band including backing vocals. Frances says “we have a wonderful show planned which includes some swing, some ballads, some blues, some Bacharach and maybe a little R&B to finish the night. We’ll be performing some songs from the album as well as a selection of classics and standards. It will be cabaret style and there will be something for everyone. So come along for dinner, bring some friends and we promise to make it an evening you’ll enjoy.”
