“Bring Me The Head of Mavis Davis”, the 1997 English cult comedy movie, is the inspiration behind the Mavis Davis Band. In the film, Mavis is a fading star that refuses to die after her agent suggests that her death could jolt record sales and turn her into a legend. Just as Mavis refuses to die, the Mavis Davis Band, consisting of a group of talented and accomplished musicians, also refuses to fade away.
Brigid DeNeefe is a multi talented entertainer. Although initially trained as a classical vocalist, she has over 30 years experience entertaining many audiences with jazz, swing and blues – all the more reason to come along tonight. You will not only hear both classics and standards but also many not so standard.
The Mavis Davis Band features:
David Rowlands – Piano
Andrew Eames – Bass
Tim McLaren – Guitar
Alan Smith – Drums
